Help Us Build the Future of Farming

At Peacock Technology Ltd., we develop intelligent robotics and AI-powered vision systems that are transforming modern dairy farming. Our mission is simple but powerful: to improve animal welfare and farm efficiency through innovative automation.

From robotic udder hygiene systems to pioneering vision platforms, our technologies are already making a measurable difference on farms across the UK and beyond. As demand for our systems grows, so does our team—and we’re looking for talented individuals who are excited to make a real-world impact.

We’re looking for a motivated and capable Manufacturing Team Leader to take the lead in our hands-on production environment. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical skills with leadership, helping us scale high-quality products while mentoring a growing team.

The Role: Manufacturing Team Leader

As our new Manufacturing Team Leader, you’ll be right in the middle of our build and assembly operations—not sitting behind a desk, but actively assembling, testing, and preparing equipment alongside your team. You'll help keep the team organised and efficient while also playing a key hands-on role in getting our robotic systems ready for the field.

From contributing to builds and testing to maintaining traceability and supporting prototype development, this is a varied and active role. You’ll be working closely with our engineering and operations teams to ensure smooth production workflows and a strong feedback loop from field performance back to design improvements.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in delivering quality, leads by example, and enjoys rolling up their sleeves.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and support the manufacturing team in delivering high-quality products

  • Allocate tasks and manage production schedules to meet business demands

  • Attend internal planning meetings and report on build progress and blockers

  • Maintain traceability of products using shipping logs, serial number tracking, and inventory records

  • Oversee incoming goods testing to verify quality and compliance

  • Assemble and package products for domestic and international delivery

  • Perform firmware updates and functional testing across a range of products

  • Assist with prototyping, verification testing, and test method development

  • Support the design and assembly of production test equipment

  • Ensure safe, tidy, and well-organised working practices across the team

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who combines practical technical skill with the ability to lead, communicate, and drive quality across the team. You’ll need to be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, balancing hands-on work with strategic oversight.

Essential:

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally in electro-mechanical systems

  • Hands-on skills with hand tools, power tools, and basic assembly techniques

  • Understanding of electronics and basic wiring principles

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings

  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with networking concepts

  • High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality

  • Organised, adaptable, and confident leading small teams

Desirable:

  • Experience with functional testing or firmware updating

  • Experience managing stock levels and inventory control

  • Background in test rig or test process development

Personal Qualities That Help You Thrive

  • Team Leader – You lead by example and support your team to deliver

  • Reliable and Organised – You keep track of stock, schedules, and priorities with ease

  • Problem-Solver – You spot issues early and work collaboratively to resolve them

  • Hands-On – You enjoy being part of the build and testing process

  • Customer-Focused – You care about what leaves the building and how it performs in the field

What We Offer in Return

  • A permanent, full-time role with competitive salary

  • Access to an Electric Vehicle (EV) salary sacrifice scheme following completion of the probation period

  • 34 days holiday (including public holidays)

  • Productivity-related bonus scheme

  • Private health and wellness scheme

  • Ongoing training and development

  • Flexitime and supportive working culture

If you're ready to step into a leadership role and help build technology that truly makes a difference, we’d love to hear from you.

Apply now by submitting your CV and confirming your ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
