Join Us in Shaping the Future of Farming

At Peacock Technology Ltd., we develop intelligent robotics and AI-powered vision systems that are transforming modern dairy farming. Our mission is simple but powerful: to improve animal welfare and farm efficiency through innovative automation.

From advanced robotic udder care systems to pioneering computer vision solutions, we’re delivering real-world impact. As demand for our systems accelerates, we’re expanding our talented team. If you’re passionate about engineering and want your work to make a tangible difference – for farmers, animals, and the planet – this is your opportunity.

The Role: Senior Automation Engineer

We’re seeking a proactive, hands-on automation expert to lead the next generation of our robotic systems. You’ll take ownership of robotic and PLC control software, working closely with the Operations team and Technical Services team. You'll translate customer, distributor, and internal feedback into system improvements that form part of our ongoing release programme.

This is a role for someone who enjoys both strategic design and practical fieldwork – from early-stage requirements through to commissioning and real-world testing. Expect to spend time in boots, on farms, collaborating with those using our technology daily.

You’ll play a key role in delivering systems like our IDS Pre-Brush and Post-Spray robots, which promote udder hygiene and animal wellbeing.

  • Engage with customers and suppliers to ensure designs meet operational needs

  • Create high-quality documentation and technical proposals

  • Support, mentor, and share knowledge with junior engineers

  • Take part in on-site commissioning, testing, and field upgrades (UK and international)

What We’re Looking For

We know that great engineers come from diverse backgrounds. If you’re enthusiastic, capable, and motivated by real-world problem-solving, we want to hear from you.

Essential:

  • Degree or higher qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation)

  • 3+ years' experience in automation or robotic engineering

  • Strong experience in PLC programming and control systems (ideally structured text or ladder logic)

  • Solid grasp of electrical principles and DC control circuits

  • Confident working hands-on with machinery and test rigs

  • Willing to travel to farms and get stuck in with on-site testing

  • Full driving licence and passport

 Desirable:

  • Experience with KUKA robotic systems

  • Experience with Beckhoff (TwinCAT) platforms

  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems

  • Field commissioning and troubleshooting experience

Personal Qualities That Help You Thrive
